PAST
SELF, PRESENT SELF and COACHING
The idea that the present
moment creates the past and the future at the same time is a concept
that most people find difficult. We see time as a linear thing. We
see the future as yet to come, and the past as something already
gone. Except the reality is, neither one of them exist. They both
happen now.
Now is the only time that you have access to both. Who you were one
minute ago, has no relevance in this moment. Who you were one minute
ago, has a future if you hold onto that identity.
Say; if you were
depressed one minute ago, and you keep holding onto that depression,
you're creating a depressing future, because every minute that
passes is another minute of past depression.
As the depression is carried forward into each minute the future is
constantly being created by an identity that only exists in the
past. So, when opportunities present themselves, you're already
depressed, you've already chosen your future. You're not going to
feel up to it. The future is already decided for you by default.
The only path you're offering your present moment
experience is depression which is being reborn every minute.
YOU ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON YOU WERE ONE MINUTE AGO!!
CASE EXAMPLE:
Mike (aged 27), a smart and talented Software Designer, was
depressed for five years due to the loss of his child-hood
sweetheart/life partner. His personal and professional life was on
hold as he lacked motivation to move forward.
On the advice of his boss and friend, he decided to see the
company's newly appointed neuro-behavioral
coach and try to confront what was making him depressed. His coach,
using the Neuro Self Transformation Model and the Future / Past Self
visualization technique helped Mike establish a better suited
Present Self who was centered in the present moment.
In his second session, with
new SELF perspectives
of who he was and
where he was going, his Present Self accepted that the past love of
his life had gone, he was now single and that he could even see a
life with her not in it.
Upon the acceptance of this, his life began to change. As he
continued to accept it, he began to feel better and better about
life. 3 months later he applied for a team leader position at work
and even begun dating. While the change in feeling wasn't instant,
the change in perspective was and that led to gradual change in
feeling. He had begun offering the present moment a new perspective,
and that changed where his future had been going for the last five
years.
Mike has not been depressed since. He knew that the cause of his
depression was a result of holding onto the past. And
learnt, with the help of his neuro-behavioral coach, that it is only
in the present moment that we create the past. So, whatever it is
from the past that is holding / pulling you back there is nothing you can do about it
if you choose to be locked in the past. But it only exists if you
choose to live there.

Who you were one minute ago, is not who you are now.
Let the past teach you that, and you'll feel better and have a
better life.
The dissolving of the energy engaged in the Past SELF (concept of
ourselves) to ONCE AGAIN be freely able to express our true
individuality.
Although it is always the true Present Self that is living the form,
the Past false Self (illusion of the me) filters out its expression,
because the life force is watered down by it.
Transcending the sense of separation is the beginning of a renewed
life. This can lead to a transitionary, rest period of reflection,
as we do not recognize ourselves anymore in the old ways, but we are
not yet fully able to authentically express ourselves either.
The passage from being me to being I is a rich adventure that
involves the
thinking mind giving way to our consciousness, a higher
Intelligence.
The
shadows of the
temporary personality
are
transformed into new opportunities to give birth to the true You.
Our personality is always continually evolving.
This accelerated and lasting transfiguration of the old identity is
achieved through the guidance of a qualified, neuro-behavioral
change agent. Now free from the illusion of Self separation,
Consciousness and Self-awareness provides the means to be
authentically You .
