WHAT IS
INTUITION ?
The scientific community has confirmed that intuition can be more
powerful than intellect.
In a study by the Salk Institute, it was observed when it comes to making major
decisions, your intuition matters just as much as your intellect.
The definition of the word 'intuition' in the Oxford English
Dictionary is: 'Immediate insight or understanding without conscious
reasoning.'
The truth is all great leaders, physicians, all great
diagnosticians, and all great neuro-behavioral coaches are highly intuitive.
Many talented and immensely effective people in the world attribute
their great success to their intuition. This is a powerful, yet
readily available ability that we are all born with, yet very few of
us develop it beyond even the most basic level.
Intuition is an innate capability, specific for each individual,
which serves as a guide, counsellor, and informer. It is an abstract
quality of mind programmed from a higher level of consciousness. It
is a segment of the Higher Self from which all knowing and physical
manifestations are derived.
Self-awareness is often rated the highest level a person can reach,
but as a form of intelligence, intuition frequently scores the
highest position.
Intuition versus Empathy
Empathy begins with awareness of another person's feelings and
develops naturally out of active listening. It has an impact
on the level of rapport we are able to create.
People who actively use their intuition are also Active Observers
and Listeners who are able to decode others and their environment in
ways others may have a hard time understanding.
Using intuition is equally as important as active
listening and
questioning skills. It also has a key role to play in establishing
rapport.
Accessing and articulating your intuitive sense about something that
concerns us adds another dimension to our usual logical and
rational perspectives.
Intuition and Deduction
The process
of deduction is about the application of intellect and deductive
rigor to achieve a conclusion. Intuition is more of a vision,
sometimes a premonition, that one gets, sometimes aided, sometimes
unaided. This would not only be gifted by intelligence but by other
means as well, some mental, others spiritual. Therein the confusion
in defining Intuition.
Intuition is mostly
the (almost instant) outcome of bringing to match reality with
accumulated knowledge and (general) pattern recognition.
It is like catching a ball. You don’t rationally measure its
flight path, height in comparison to your position, and left time
until it reaches your hand. You catch it intuitively.
We have all meet someone who possess high intuitive accuracy coupled
with a high IQ. Their gift of “gut feeling” places them above others
with standardized intelligence. They are also some of the most
successful and happiest people you will meet.
The neuroscience behind intuition.
Neuroscience has shown us how our mirror neurons can guide our
intuition and help us survive. It can help us interpret and process
what others may be feeling without someone having to name it
-similar to feeling someone’s emotion. You can feel it… but don’t
know how it’s happening. It happens so quickly that we say, “I
just have a sense about something” and if we searched for a thought
process behind it, we won’t find one because there isn’t one.
Complex problems and taking the right decisions in complex
situations needs both reason and intuition. These combine to form
right contextual knowledge of a complex situation. Reason forms
rules based on existing knowledge, which are, so to say, “Google
able”. Whereas, intuition creates new knowledge by making unusual
connections, which is commonly known as “out of the box thinking” or
“creative thinking.”
The importance of Intuition in Decision Making
Some people explain their intuition simply as cognitively perceiving
data, it’s just that they’re doing it so quickly. With pattern
recognition from past experience, they believe what they experience
as intuitive is actually just unbelievably quick cognitive
processing.
When prompted to think back over the course of their lives many
people are often shocked, ‘when I made that decision, I actually
knew it was wrong, but I didn’t trust the part of me that was
telling me not to do it.’ Or they say, ‘It was the craziest thing. I
made this decision. Everyone in my life thought I was insane, but I
just knew it was right, and it turned out it was the best decision I
ever made.’”
In essence, we need both instinct and reason to make the best
possible decisions for ourselves, our businesses, and our families.
Unfortunately, many of us—even when we experience success using this
lesser acknowledged part of us—are uncomfortable with the idea of
using our instincts as a guidance tool. We diminish our capacity to
leverage the power of our own instincts when we need them most. Our
discomfort with the idea of relying on our instincts is based on
millennia of cultural prejudice.
Our Conscious is an expert at logic
and will use it relentlessly. Conversely, the Super Consciousness
searches through the past, present, and future and connects with
hunches and feelings in a nonlinear way. Its process is cryptic to
the logical mind, as it defies the conventional laws of time and
space.
Intuition and its connection with the Heart
Phrases such as “Listen to your heart,” “Follow your heart” and “I
believe deep in my heart” are more than metaphors: They are literal
descriptions of what happens when we have intuitions. It seems that
our “gut” feelings are actually “heartfelt.” This is not to say that
the heart, or any other organ, can "see" into the future. But rather
that feelings of intuition can literally live in our hearts.
Recent studies found that subjects’ changes in their
heart rate correlated highly with their picking a future result such
as in a game of cards. They had simply learned to make the right choices without
realizing they had learned it! Or, put another way, their hearts
knew more than their minds.
The beating of our heart seems to
alert us what’s going to be.
The heart can recognize danger, and warn you, because it already has
felt similar outcomes. Every choice we make, in any given situation,
can be seen to be a choice between the head or the heart. So its
simply a matter of figuring out, which one is which.
Trust is the foundation of it all.
Trusting your intuition, is trusting yourself, and if you trust
yourself, then you are powerful beyond measure, because no one, and
nothing, can take it away from you. Trust yourself, and you become a
light for others around you. We're all connected that way.
The greatest gift you have to offer the world, is trusting yourself
fully. The more trust we have in ourselves, the greater our capacity
to lead and manage others. And the more trust we have increases our
capacity to connect to others and life.
Just as in developing any skill, training and practice is needed
to work with this higher level of intelligence.

HOW TO BUILD A PROGRAM TO DEVELOP INTUITION IN THE WORKPLACE
The GOOD NEWS!
The “good news" is that intuition can easily be developed with spectacular positive results for both
the individual and organization they work in. In fact every
organization and enterprise alike have
the opportunity to harness an individual or
groups intuition into an energy force generating a cascade of
sustainable, measurable, long-term benefits for everyone.
So, how do we develop intuition?
Given that intuition is a major component of learning and discovery
-how can we enhance a person’s intuition that it is built on
scientific reality?
Firstly, contrary to popular belief, intuition can be practiced and
enhanced.
Given intuition is a form of processing that is not based on
reasoning with your internal dialogue you have to learn to listen to
the processing you can't hear, but can feel, and allow that to form
into thoughts, ideas, images etc that you can access.
True intuition is about tapping into the scientifically proven
quantum field within all living beings.
This can only be done by accessing our Super Consciousness.
THE PROCESS
The Behavioral Coaching Institute's Neuro Self-Transformational
Self-Change Model provide the means to access the Super
Consciousness (Higher Self). This proven Model also provide us the
structure/process to dramatically increase a person’s intuition.
The two key points here is that; 1) we must move through our
emotional push-pull. our noisy mental state, constant mind chatter,
anxiety, bodily tension to reach our Higher Self and, 2) the need to
identify emotional casing around Intuition.
It’s important for our clients to learn the difference between
feelings, which are born of emotion, and intuition. Feelings are
usually grounded in ego, whereas intuition has a purer foundation.
Rarely will your intuition be colored by a sense of ego,
self-esteem, worth, or personality. Intuition is a mental sensation
of knowing that is not supported by anything coming from our five
senses. Feelings stem from a lifetime of experiences we have
integrated; that is not necessarily true of intuition.
STEPS
A person who has undertaken training as a Neuro-Behavioral Coach
first builds a personal/trusting alliance and then a case
formulation.
The below user-friendly, coaching delivery model process steps and tasks (NeuroCoaching
and Self-Care Coaching) generally occur in parallel and are woven
through-out the intervention process by a trained and certified
Neuro-Behavioral Coach.
All ICC Accredited, Neuro-Behavioral Coaches
are trained in the use of advanced Self-Change Models and techniques
-such as the below Steps of the Neuro Self-Transformational Change
Model utilizing Neuro Metacognition X-ercises ™ (Deep level /
subconscious Metacognition Role-playing incorporating Direct
Visualization, Self-Dialogue, Positive Memory Reconstitution and
Mindfulness).
(a) Working with the client and the easy-to-follow Neuro
Self-Transformational Change Model on identifying some recent past
intuitive experiences they can develop an understanding of the narrative to make sense
of their impact.
(b) Working with the client to identify and label the gateway emotions
and feelings of the moments of intuitive awakening.
(c) Assist the client to acquire the capacity to
regulate and express key intuitive drivers providing clear access to experience
intuition.
(d)
Next Step. For the client to practice and build a ready accessible
intuitive process we need to use neural plasticity as a pathway
builder.
Today, more and more people are awakening their intuition to achieve
tremendous success and abundance in all areas of their lives.
The above Neuro Self-Transformational Self-Change Model has
consistently proven to help a person access their intuition. The proprietary techniques ( X-ercises ™) used focus on
the neuro-behavioral drivers of intuition.
Benefits include; enhanced creativity, productivity, well-being,
confidence and outlook on life etc. Measurable, positive results are typically generated by the client
within just three short coaching sessions. The client is empowered
how to readily access their intuition and typically does not require
any further help.
The key to success in any intuition intervention is the selection of
